AHA's 2nd Annual Workplace Health Summit

Workplace Health Summit BannerThe AHA’s annual Workplace Health Summit provides an opportunity for attendees to learn about the latest research and best practices in workplace health and wellness programs.

Attendees include, but are not limited to, wellness providers, employers and other human resources and health professionals invested in improving workforce health.

This year’s Summit was held in New Orleans, LA on November 11, 2016.

Summit topics included:

  • strategies for small and medium-sized companies
  • reducing health disparities in the US workforce
  • using value-on-investment approaches for assessing the effectiveness of workplace wellness programs

Do Workplace Wellness Programs Work? (PDF)
Presenter: Ron Z. Goetzel, PhD, Johns Hopkins University & Truven Health Analytics

In his presentation, Dr. Goetzel presents the business case for adopting evidence-based, comprehensive and well-resourced workplace health programs and reviews value-on-investment (VOI) approaches to assess workplace programs in contract to the traditional return-on-investment (ROI).

HealthLinks Assisting Small Worksites (PDF)

Dr. Hannon presents results from a study of HealthLinks that includes 72 small worksites in low-wage industries and discusses the applicability of HealthLinks strategies to other workplace wellness interventions for small worksites.
