Go Red For Women

Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States? It kills nearly half a million women each year at the rate of about one per minute. They are our sisters, mothers, daughters, friends, neighbors and colleagues.

Yet, there is hope. Inside every woman is the power to live a longer, stronger life. The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women® movement seeks to provide women with the tools and resources they need to reduce their risk for heart disease and stroke.

The Toledo Go Red For Women Luncheon plays a vital role in the overall goal of the campaign.  Funds raised from the event will go to activities to support awareness, research, education and community programs.  The Go Red For Women campaign is designed to create an inspirational and informative atmosphere which will encourage people in communities across America to become champions of health.

The Toledo Go Red For Women Luncheon promises to be a life-changing experience. Guests will hear heart warming and real-life experiences from women who have been affected by heart disease and how it has changed their lives.  In addition, there will also be a health and wellness expo where guests will have the opportunity to participate in health screenings as well as interact with healthcare professionals about such topics as blood pressure, cholesterol, fitness and nutrition and stroke prevention.  This year, we are also celebrating our 10th anniversary of the Go Red For Women Luncheon.

Be sure to be a part of this amazing campaign -- it could save your life!
