South Asians are one of the fastest-growing ethnic populations in the United States. They’re also at higher risk for heart disease, and heart disease hits them earlier in life. A study called MASALA, like the spice mixture used in Indian cooking, aims to identify health risks faced by the South Asian community and to educate health care professionals who treat them.
