Common Year-End Giving Solutions

Our team of charitable planning experts provide ready-to-use resources and step-by-step guidance for every giving option.

  • Appreciated Securities and Mutual Funds – donating appreciated stock, bonds and mutual funds allows donors to claim a fair market value deduction while potentially avoiding capital gains tax. Conveniently donate appreciated securities using our online platform.

  • Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) – current rates for CGAs are the highest they’ve been in over a decade. There is also an opportunity for clients to fund a CGA with a one-time qualified charitable distribution to satisfy RMD requirements. Use our gift calculator to see potential tax savings and lifetime income for your clients, or contact us for a free, no-obligation illustration.

  • Cryptocurrency – the American Heart Association accepts over 100 types of cryptocurrencies through our secure, online form.

  • Donor Advised Funds – your clients who have a donor advised fund can recommend a grant to the American Heart Association quickly and securely using our online platform.

  • Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) – clients 70 ½ and older can transfer up to $108,000 this year directly from their IRA to a qualified charity tax-free. QCDs count towards RMDs and can be a great solution for clients who have not satisfied their RMD yet. A QCD to the American Heart Association can be initiated online in just a few minutes.
