Nutrition Security Resources for Community Organizations

Healthy Foods
The American Heart Association in Washington is collaborating with local organizations to address nutrition security in our state. By working alongside food access organizations, our goal is to support health-centered environmental change and connect more Washingtonians to healthy, culturally relevant food options enabling everyone to build a long and healthy life.

The resources on this page were developed by the American Heart Association’s Community Impact team to support this important work. Materials offered include educational resources, healthy recipes utilizing ingredients often found in food banks and pantries and display signage to guide customers to the healthiest choices.

English and Spanish language documents are available for download below. Materials are free to use and distribute as displayed, copyright prohibits removing or altering documents in any way. Resources are available in Ukrainian, Russian, Arabic and Vietnamese by request. Please e-mail us at [email protected] to request access to additional translations.

This suite of signage materials was created in partnership with Washington Food Coalition with input from their member programs.

Food Security Screening Videos

These short videos guide individuals in completing a simple, two-question, self-screening for food security. Offered in five languages, the videos can be played in waiting rooms, at health screening events and shared digitally on websites and social media channels. If individuals self-identify as needing extra support, they are directed to the Help Me Grow Hotline, 1 (800) 322-2588 or online at www.parenthelp123.org
