Achieving Coordinated Identification, Detection and Treatment of Heart Failure Summit

April 12, 2017, Hyatt Regency, Bethesda, MD

The American Heart Association convened a Heart Failure Summit on April 12th with a goal to help us achieve better coordination of identification, detection and treatment of heart failure. Through a series of presentations and panel discussions with distinguished experts in the field who shared their insights on opportunities to improve heart failure management across the system of care, the goals for the day included identification of strategies that will:

  • Make Heart Failure a national priority
  • Support the AHA/ASA goal to reduce to death and disability by heart disease by 20 percent by 2020
  • Support the Rise Above Heart Failure initiative goal to reduce hospitalization by 10% by 2020

Following the Summit, the AHA is working on key learnings to build measurable actionable strategies for all key stakeholders in Heart Failure. This website will be the repository for all the information from the summit as well as the calls to action that will drive the market to purposeful consideration on how to address gaps amongst underserved populations for screening, identification and treatment of the condition.

Thank you for being part of this important endeavor.
