Sam Angel is a medical student at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Florida and a Master of Biomedical Sciences at Nova Southeastern University.

His research experience spans microbiology, oncology, academic medicine, and health disparities. He has authored peer-reviewed publications and presented multiple posters and oral presentations at regional and national conferences. He recently presented Growth Mechanics Alter Antibiotic Sensitivity in Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus.

Sam’s leadership extends into community health and education through his role as Program Coordinator for Helpwise, a health equity initiative that trains laypersons in Bystander CPR and Stop the Bleed techniques. He has secured over $30,000 in grant funding to expand these programs, including two NSU Quality of Life and Pathwell Seed Grants.

Outside of medicine, Sam enjoys building guitars, weightlifting, cooking, and running. He enjoys staying active and being outside, fishing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
