Heart Ball Ambassadors are high school sophomore girls and boys who participate in educational and social programs and activities. The program trains in all areas of the American Heart Association through volunteering, advocacy, learning about heart-healthy lifestyles, and discovering how they can individually fight heart disease and stroke – all in a fun environment. Becoming an Ambassador is an excellent resume building tool, since these young leaders have the opportunity to attain community service hours, learn valuable leadership development skills and network with peers.
The highlight of the program is the presentation of the Ambassadors at the Heart Ball on February 22, 2020. The Wichita Heart Ball is an elegant gala and one of the most important fundraisers of our local American Heart Association. The funds raised help support research, education, and community service. Because of the generous support of those in the Wichita community, science has made important advances in preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases.
This year we will be offering three need-based scholarships, focused on service to the community and financial need.
