AHA International Blog Profile: Dr Khalida Soomro and COVID-19

AHA International Blog Profile: Dr. Khalida Soomro and COVID-19 When the COVID-19 pandemic postponed activities throughout Pakistan, Dr. Khalida Soomro became even more ardent about promoting health awareness and resources.

That’s why Soomro, professor and chairperson in the Cardiology Department at Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi, has teamed up with the Pakistan Cardiac Society to create informational videos for the public and her colleagues in medical and cardiology societies.

She’s using social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook to promote the videos, which can be accessed in the Go Red for Women section of the Pakistan Cardiac Society website.

Soomro is also reviewing COVID-19 guidelines of the World Health Organization, World Heart Federation, American College of Cardiology, Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology and Pakistan’s health services to disseminate among colleagues, society members and NGOs.
