World Restart a Heart Day, observed each year on October 16, is a global initiative that raises awareness about the importance of bystander CPR and encourages more people to be ready to act in a cardiac emergency. Join the American Heart Association throughout October by completing a variety of fun and simple volunteer activities that build CPR and AED awareness with your family, workplace, school or community group.
How it Works

The activities are designed for all ages, require no special skills or training and can be completed individually or with family, friends, coworkers or community groups.

Choose from 10 simple and engaging activities that help build CPR and AED awareness while encouraging others to be ready to act in a cardiac emergency. Go on an AED scavenger hunt, get creative with CPR-inspired art, celebrate an everyday lifesaving hero and share eye-catching messages that inspire others to learn CPR.
The activities are easy, fun and designed for all ages. Participate on your own or invite family, friends, coworkers, students, volunteers or community partners to join you. No special skills, training or staff support are required.
