Healthy Living BEYOND Weight Study

A longitudinal study focused on weight management therapies and outcomes for people living with obesity or those who are overweight.

The American Heart Association is launching a novel, direct-to-participant, longitudinal  study. The Healthy Living BEYOND Weight Study will provide seminal data to define cardio-kidney-metabolic risk factors, address obesity, and shape public health guidance.

BEYOND is an acronym and you will see it used often when speaking about this program. It stands for: Bridging Evidence and Yielding Outcomes for Novel weight management therapies and Disease prevention.

The AHA will draw on its decades of experience administering registries to develop and implement a longitudinal cohort study with a focus on the latest weight management therapies. Consented individuals will be enrolled and followed to understand real-world experience and outcomes over time.

Long-term, real-world data are lacking in patients with obesity and Cardio-Kidney-Metabolic (CKM) Syndrome stage 1, as well as those who are prescribed GLP-1 and other incretin agents

Recruitment will start soon.
