American Heart Association Community Impact Event at Boone Memorial Hospital
In recognition of American Heart Month, Boone Memorial Hospital proudly worked with the American Heart Association in hosting a Community Lunch & Learn focused on heart-healthy practices and prevention. The event welcomed 35 community members who gathered to learn practical ways to improve cardiovascular health through healthy eating, physical activity, stress management, and understanding key risk factors for heart disease. The educational session was led by Holly Mitchell, Community Impact Director for the American Heart Association, who shared valuable resources and information designed to empower attendees to make positive lifestyle changes.
The Lunch & Learn provided an engaging opportunity for participants to ask questions, exchange experiences, and gain a deeper understanding of how small changes can have a significant impact on long-term heart health. Through interactive discussion and evidence-based education, attendees learned strategies for managing blood pressure, maintaining healthy cholesterol levels, and recognizing the importance of regular health screenings. The event reflected the shared commitment of Boone Memorial Hospital and the American Heart Association to improving health outcomes throughout the community.
“Community education is one of the most effective ways to help people take charge of their health,” said Holly Mitchell, Community Impact Director. “We are grateful for our partnership with Boone Memorial Hospital and for the opportunity to connect with residents, provide trusted information, and encourage heart-healthy habits that can make a lifelong difference.”
