Q: Are all recognition levels renewed automatically?
A: No. Every workplace must reapply annually.

Q: Does our workplace have to pay a fee to get recognized?
A: No, there is no fee involved. All we require is that you apply online and that your workplace has 10 or more employees.

Q: How does a workplace qualify for a Bronze level recognition?
A: To qualify for a Bronze level recognition, a workplace would have to fulfill the following requirements:

• Bronze level recognition certificate
• Bronze level social media recognition seal
• Recognition of Bronze level on AHA website

Q: How does a workplace qualify for a Gold level recognition?
A: In order for a workplace to qualify for a Gold level recognition, it would have to fulfill Bronze level criteria in addition to the following:

• Gold level recognition certificate
• Gold level social media recognition seal
• Recognition of Gold level on AHA website

Q: How does a workplace qualify for a Platinum level recognition?
A: In order to qualify for a Platinum level recognition, a workplace would have to fulfill Gold level criteria in addition to the following:

• Letter of accomplishment from the AHA Executive Vice President John Meiners
• Recognition of Platinum level on AHA website
• Platinum level recognition certificate
• Platinum level social media recognition seal
• Tools to help the workplace internally promote recognition

Q: How is the workplace notified about the recognition?
A: The workplace will be contacted by an AHA representative after an online submission calculates what recognition level has been achieved.
 
Q: What do the workplaces receive once they are recognized?
A: Workplaces receive the following based on their recognition level:

Recognition at the Platinum Level
Press release from the American Heart Association and Heart Ready Workplace to alert local and national media of the accomplishment
Letter of accomplishment from the AHA Executive Vice President John Meiners
Platinum level social media recognition seal
Platinum level recognition certificate and plaque
Recognition of Platinum level at AHA Scientific Sessions
Recognition of Platinum level at Emergency Cardiovascular Care Update (ECCU) Conference
Recognition of Platinum level on AHA website
Tools to help the workplace internally promote recognition

Recognition at the Gold Level
Gold level social media recognition seal
Gold level recognition certificate

Recognition is for a one-year period, and each organization will need to reapply every year by online application.
 
Q: What are the criteria to apply?
A: A minimum of 10 employees is required to apply for Heart Ready Workplace recognition.
 
Q: When is the deadline for submission?
A: There is no deadline to apply; however, to be recognized at ECCU or Scientific Sessions, the workplace must be accepted by August 1.
 
Q: When will I be notified if my company received recognition?
A: Qualification for recognition is immediate, and you are notified after the application.
 
Q: Who reviews the applications and decides on the recognition?
A: The Heart Ready Workplace program is a free, self-reporting, voluntary recognition program. Recognition is based on the information provided during the submission process and is calculated by tallying points. One point is granted for each successful activity. A list of qualifying activities is provided in the criteria.
