Phoenix Heart of your Community

The American Heart Association’s Heart of Your Community initiative—sponsored by Dignity Health—is a year-round community education initiative to empower Valley residents to improve their heart health through a wide range of educational outreach events.

As part of Heart of Your Community, the American Heart Association and Dignity Health will jointly participate in workplace and community health fairs, workshops and other grassroots events designed to educate people about how they can improve their health.

According to the American Heart Association, 39 percent of Americans believe they are in ideal health, but less than one percent meets that standard. Through Heart of Your Community, the American Heart Association and Dignity Health’s four area facilities—St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Barrow Neurological Institute, Chandler Regional Medical Center and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center—will motivate Valley residents to make an effort toward a healthy heart. This sponsorship is the first of its kind in the greater Phoenix area, and will provide people with tools and resources to help them feel better, look better and lower their chances of heart disease and stroke.

As exclusive hospital sponsor of Heart of Your Community, Dignity Health has made a three-year commitment to the American Heart Association’s Heart of Your Community initiative.
