WHEN: Friday, August 3, 2012, 10am-2pm
WHERE: Zoofari Conference Center, 10001 W. Bluemound Road, Milwaukee
(MILWAUKEE) – Heart disease remains the #1 killer of women nationwide and right here in Wisconsin. The American Heart Association is focused on raising awareness among women that heart disease is their greatest health threat. However, to prevent the heart disease of the future, the young girls of today need to learn healthy habits as well. A Fairy Event of the Heart was designed to reach across generations and help girls and women of all ages live healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
The girls attending this event will have the chance to be fairies for a day. There will be fairy costumes, updos, face painting, manicures and, of course, fairy portraits to remember the day by. A special fairy lunch and an appearance by Lady Penelope will top off the morning. Most importantly, these fairies will learn the importance of exercise, eating right, and never, ever smoking.
The moms, aunts and grandmas in attendance will also learn life-saving information about taking charge of their heart health. Plus, there will be a silent auction with some truly magical items to bid on. All donations will help fund the life-saving work of the American Heart Association.
