WICHITA, December 3, 2013 – The American Heart Association is pleased to announce that Anne Chandler has been named the organization’s Wichita Heart Ball Director. Chandler began her new role in November after most recently serving as director of corporate and foundation relations for Newman University.
“The American Heart Association is pleased to welcome Anne to her new role,” said Nancy Duling, executive director for the American Heart Association Flint Hills Division. “Anne is incredibly talented and is eager to connect the American Heart Association’s lifesaving mission with many new contacts throughout this region. At the Wichita Heart Ball on February 15, we look forward to celebrating the great success achieved as a result of her leadership and the incredible support of our sponsors and volunteers.”
About Anne Chandler:
Prior to joining the American Heart Association, Chandler developed an impressive background in fundraising, marketing, event planning and volunteer cultivation. Chandler’s professional career includes leadership roles with Wichita Area Technical College, the local Keith Worthington Chapter of the ALS Association, the Kansas Policy Institute and Newman University. Career highlights include the development of a statewide mentoring project for technical colleges across Kansas, raising more than $3.5 million dollars in grant funds and another $3 million in pledges, leading more than 90 volunteers to plan and implement an event drawing 800 attendees and nearly doubling event sponsorships over a two year period.
A native of Wichita and a graduate of Wichita State University, Chandler is active as a community volunteer and serves in leadership roles with the Wichita Downtown Rotary and Junior League of Wichita.
