The American Heart Association, in partnership with generous donors, is proud to offer scholarships to support passionate and deserving students pursuing careers in health-related fields.
Yearly Funding Opportunities
- Application Start: December 1
- Application End: April 1
- Application Review: April – May
- All applicants will be notified between May – June
Medical Scholarships Offered
- Howard B. Burchell, M.D., Ph.D., Heart Scholarship - $4,500
- James H. Moller, M.D., Heart Scholarship - $1,200
- Melvin P. Nelson & Esther L. Nelson Heart Scholarship - $1,200 (odd calendar years only)
- Helen N. & Harold B. Shapira Heart Medical Scholarship - $1,000
Undergraduate Scholarships Offered
- VFW undergraduate scholarships - $3,000 each
- Helen N. & Harold B. Shapira Heart Undergraduate Scholarship - $1,000
