  • 31. Southern New England Heart Walk The Southern New England Heart Walk promotes physical activity and heart-healthy living in a fun environment. The event draws companies, survivors, friends and families to form teams for a 2-mile or 3.5-mile walk. Many walk in honor or in memory of loved ones to raise awareness in the fight against heart disease and stroke. This year, the 25th Anniversary event will be chaired by Vic Vetters, Vice President and General Manager of NBC10/WJAR! Funds raised through the Heart Walk fund lifesaving research and education in the fight against heart disease and stroke.
  • 32. Plattsburgh Heart Walk This fun-filled event, held at the Plattsburgh City Recreation Gym and U.S. Oval, will include a 1- or 3-mile walk along Lake Champlain, live music, free giveaways and an informational health fair.

American Heart Association Diversity Report

Attached is a copy of the American Heart Association’s 2009-2010 Annual Diversity Report. This report highlights our organization’s successes in the area of diversity with emphasis on cultural competence. The report focuses on our consumer initiatives as well as our internal initiatives. We have broadened the scope of this year’s report to showcase initiatives in each of the Affiliates. Also, we have identified key partnerships, sponsorships and strategic alliances that enhanced our efforts to reach common goals.
