Something is always better than nothing! Physical activity is anything that makes you move your body and burns calories, such as raking leaves, climbing stairs, walking or playing sports. It becomes regular or planned when you organize your activities into a consistent, ongoing program. Besides your regular physical activity program, you can add more exercise to your day by such everyday activities activities as household chores, playing with children and pets or walking up stairs.
A great way to keep motivated is to log your activities and view your progress. You may do that easily with the American Heart Association’s free, online Activity Tracker or use our printable activity tracker.
