A Warm Western States Affiliate Welcome to Kathy Rogers

Volunteer Voice February 2014As Chairman of the Western States Affiliate board of directors, it is my honor to introduce our new Executive Vice President – Kathy Rogers. She takes over on March 3, as Roman Bowser retires after nearly 39 years of dedicated service to the American Heart Association. Kathy is pictured with Board President Robert C. Kathy comes from our National Center in Dallas, TX, where she most recently served as the Executive Vice President, Consumer Health. She assumed that role in 2008, leading the business strategy for the core priorities of the national organization and new business innovation in the consumer arena. She has also served as Vice President, Cause Initiatives; Vice President of Corporate Relations; as National Heart Walk Consultant; and, as Executive Director for the Detroit market.

Her strategic presence in strong partnership with volunteer and staff teams has helped define some of our signature initiatives including creating and sustaining one of the top cause brands in the country -- Go Red For Women; launching Power To End Stroke and the My Heart. My Life. healthy living platform; and, leading the development of our Health Equity and Multicultural Strategies to focus on key hypertension and healthy living strategies.

Kathy has over 20 years of business, marketing and sales experience and has used it to create innovative fundraising strategies, including the first national corporate relations strategic plan which resulted in $90 million of revenue in three years.

Welcome Kathy, and a sincere thank you to Roman for his many years of service to our Western States Affiliate family.

Sincerely,
