Wear Red Day
Through the Go Red For Women initiative, the American Heart Association makes a passionate call to action to women to prioritize their heart health and to live healthier, stronger lives. One in three women will die of heart disease or stroke, as opposed to one in thirty who will die of breast cancer. In spite of these statistics, many women continue to identify cancer as their number one health risk. In fact, heart disease kills women more than all forms of cancer combined.

By wearing red on Friday, February 5, 2016, everyone showed their support to raise awareness for heart disease and stroke. Thousands of women, men, companies, organizations, and cities across America help the American Heart Association support critical research and education for heart disease.

Lankenau Heart Institute's Joanne Magnatta conducted several on-air interviews explaining the importance of AHA's mission and Wear Red Day!

The Gift Gathering Party
Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments were served at Conrad O'Brien PC in Center City, as we collected beautiful packages for the Go Red For Women silent auction. This event, hosted by Executive Leadership Committee member Kevin Kent was an opportunity for us to come together to network, celebrate, and contribute to silent auction, which raised more than $10,000 at the Go Red For Women Luncheon. Guests were asked to bring a basket for the auction, valuing at least $150 dollars. A prize was awarded for the most creative basket.
