Donna Arnett, Ph.D., B.S.N.,
President of the Greater Southeast Affiliate 2011-12 Board of Directors
Donna Arnett is the 2011-12 president of the American Heart Association's Greater Southeast Affiliate Board of Directors and president-elect for the American Heart Association's National Board of Directors. She is professor and chair of the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham's School of Public Health. Since 1992, Dr. Arnett has served in a number of volunteer capacities, including membership on the Peer Review Committee for the Florida Affiliate and the National Strategic Planning Task Force.
Dr. Arnett also led the National Research Committee from 2007 to 2009, and is the past chair of scientific publishing nationally for the American Heart Association. She also received the Award of Meritorious Award of Achievement in 2005 for leading the Second International Conference on Heart Disease in Women.
