Welcome new You’re the Cure members!

The American Heart Association is delighted to invite you to the You’re the Cure Network! By being part of the YTC network, we make it easy for you to receive frequent updates through emails-called action alerts. We also make it easy for you to send lifesaving requests to lawmakers! The You’re the Cure Network is a nationwide network of people dedicated to finding a cure for heart disease and stroke. By being part of the YTC network, you can be an active advocate by responding by taking action to action alerts that will be sent to your email account. By now, you probably have received your first action alert! By taking action, you voice your opinion on key issues and influence policymakers to change policy, to protect the health of you and your family.

With your help and dedication by taking action on alerts, we can enjoy the many critical successes in the public policy arena. Although many successes have been made as a result of dedicated volunteers-just like you, the fight against heart disease and stroke is not over. That is why we need your help! By taking action and voicing your opinions on key policy issues, we are one step closer to achieving the overall mission of the American Heart Association-to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

AHA’s federal policy work is aimed at improving the lives of Americans suffering from heart disease and stroke or those at risk for developing cardiovascular disease. The legislative and regulatory policies we promote represent our best opportunities to achieve our mission - building healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Federal advocacy work is centered on five central priorities:  support for research, the promotion of cardiovascular health through measures aimed at prevention, fostering health care quality and value, ensuring access to appropriate, affordable, and timely care, and measures aimed at improving stroke prevention and treatment.
