INDIANAPOLIS – The American Heart Association’s second annual “Tea Party in Wonderland” presented by Big Bounce Fun House Rentals is July 19 in Brownsburg, giving women and girls a magical experience with Mad Hatters, Cheshire Cats and a Queen of Hearts while educating them about heart health and benefitting the American Heart Association.
Katelynne Newton, Miss Teen Indiana International, will share her own story of heart disease.
“Heart disease is the number one killer of women in Indiana,” said Newton, who recently graduated from Avon High School. “It was the last thing on my mind when I suddenly started having heart problems a couple of years ago. It’s important that women and girls of all ages learn about heart disease and how to take care of themselves. The Tea Party in Wonderland will provide a fun way for women and girls to learn about a heart healthy lifestyle.”
The educational program will include:
- “Eat Me” treats and “Drink Me” teas and punch
- Create your own Mad Hatter hat
- “Alice” mini manicures for young ladies
- “Cheshire Cat” photo booth
- Spray tattoos
The party runs from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at The Crown Room in Brownsburg (900 E. 56th St.). Cost of the event is $30 for adults and $20 for girls 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at www.teapartyinwonderland.org.
