Number of kids from Greater Philadelphia and Delaware that participated in our Jump Rope For Heart and Hoops For Heart programs, teaching kids about heart disease and the importance of giving back to the community. Through the program, the AHA gave back $41,250 to local schools to help pay for PE equipment and resources.
Number of people living in Philadelphia County that will be able to tell the number of calories in the foods they order when eating out. Thanks to the legislation the AHA helped pass, people eating out in Philadelphia can make informed decisions, an important step in stemming obesity.
