POLL FINDINGS: BROAD SUPPORT EXISTS IN MINNESOTA FOR FUNDING PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE INFRASTRUCTURE
Minnesotans throughout the state are strongly in favor of including funding for pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure if the Minnesota legislature introduces and acts on a transportation funding package during its upcoming session, according to a statewide scientific poll.
The poll, commissioned by the Minnesotans for Healthy Kids Coalition, randomly sampled 1,000 Minnesotans to determine public habits and attitudes related to walking and bicycling. According its findings, Minnesotans see pedestrian and bicyclist needs as a critical component of the state’s transportation network. A significant majority of Minnesotans (65%) favor including additional funding for pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure in road and public transportation funding proposals.
