Sage is three years old. He is a very out-going child. He loves gymnastics class. He enjoys being around people and being the center of attention. We truly think he is an inspiration to all of us. He doesn’t let his heart problems slow him down.
He has made a big impact on the children at our elementary school. We have attended the Kansas City Heart Walk for the last three years. We have also helped be a part of our school’s Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart programs for the last three years.
Thanks to the help of the American Heart Association, we have been able to share his story with lots of people. We were able to help people realize how important the research is that the AHA helps provide.
Sage is able to live a pretty normal life, because of the procedure he received due to the research that the AHA supports and funds. I think others have started to realize how common congenital heart defects (CHD) are and how important it is to focus research on CHD treatment.
