Registration Fee:Free event. Participants are encouraged to collect donations.

The 2011 Metro Milwaukee Heart Walk at Veterans Park - Milwaukee's Lakefront on Sunday, October 16th is our "mission in action."  Registration begins at 9 am; we step off for the Heart Walk at 10:00 am.

Through the Heart Walk, we create opportunities for people to improve their health by walking and simultaneously raise funds to help fight heart disease and stroke.

  • Walkers can organize teams at the companies where they work or with family and friends. 
  • Walkers ask others to support their walk effort by sponsoring them with a donation to the American Heart Association. 
  • Heart Walk is a wellness event that encourages healthy lifestyle choices.

Lifestyle Change Award Nomination
The American Heart Association wants to recognize individuals who have made positive changes to improve their quality of life and health. No change is too small, and every accomplishment is significant!

Nominations for the Lifestyle Change Award can be submitted by friends, co-workers or relatives, and individuals can nominate themselves. Finalists will be chosen by a volunteer committee.

Deadline for the nomination submission: September 30, 2011

Many participants are heart disease and stroke survivors; others walk in honor or memory of a friend or family member who has or had heart disease or stroke.		You will be inspired to make changes in your daily life to reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke.
