Cardiovascular diseases and stroke are theNo. 1 andNo. 5 killers of Americans. The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest, largest voluntary organization devoted to building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
By providing science-based treatment guidelines to healthcare professionals, the American Heart Association works to ensure the best treatment for every patient, every time. Some examples of the American Heart Association’s work are helping people in the central Ohio community understand the importance of healthy lifestyle choices, providing CPR education training, and educating lawmakers, policy makers and the public to advocate for changes that will protect and improve the health of our communities.
Ignite commemorates the American Heart Association’s mission; to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke, at work in our community. Ignite is an innovative, mission-driven campaign which creates awareness and passion around cardiovascular wellness in the community. Through local and innovative research, together we are inspiring individuals to live longer, stronger lives.
The Ignite Research Reception honors and pays tribute to this outstanding cardiovascular research taking place in central Ohio. The event highlights current American Heart Association funded projects and the researchers leading the way in new advances in cardiovascular science.
The Ignite Heart Ball is an evening of celebration as we try to reach our goal of building healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke; supporting the educational programs and critical research to make our children’s healthy future a reality. We celebrate the work of the mission, our donors and volunteers, and most importantly the lives that have been saved and improved because of everyone’s collective work.
