Looking for a way to give back?
Volunteer with the American Heart Association!

We’re the country’s largest volunteer-run health organization and we couldn’t do what we do (save lives) without your help.

Please reach out to us and let us know how your talents can help us end heart disease and stroke.

  Specific Volunteer Opportunities Open
Sept. 15-16Latino FestHelp run our booth at Latino Fest! Bi-lingual volunteers are especially needed. All volunteers will be trained on basic heart health information and will get to interact with the 20,000+ guests of the Latino Festival. Free entrance to the fest is included. Please call Sandii Handrick at 314-692-5612 or email Sandii.handrick@heart.org.

Oct. 5Go Red For Women LuncheonPlease contact Kassi Wessing, (515) 246-4571, at The Sheraton West Des Moines about volunteer needs.
FebruaryAmerican Heart MonthFebruary is our busiest time of year and we need all hands on deck to ensure that our messages are heard across Central Iowa. Social media and marketing skills would be a big bonus for this committee. You’d help us ask businesses, private homes and other community landmarks to “Go Red” in honor of American Heart Month. There is so much we can do to raise awareness, so join this committee and add your idea! Call Alexson Calahan at 515-246-4581 or email Alexson.calahan@heart.org.

Don’t see a role you like? Email Alexson.calahan@heart.org and we’ll find the perfect spot for you!
