This one-day educational program and luncheon will provide attendees with important lifesaving information about heart disease and stroke and steps they may take to help reduce risk factors for their leading causes of death. Information will be relayed through a combination of vignettes, panel discussions and printed materials designed to educate, inspire, and empower participants to make personal lifestyle changes towards improved cardiovascular health. Participants will be encouraged to make it their personal mission to serve as health ambassadors to help improve the heart-health of their families, friends and neighbors throughout Harlem.
Chaired by Patricia Butts, First Lady of the Abyssinian Church, the 2012 Harlem Go Red Educational Forum and Luncheon will honor Dr. Muriel Petioni, “The Mother of Medicine in Harlem.”
