Des Moines, Iowa July 20, 2012– BJ Supple, former Heart Walk Director, has been named the new Metro Executive Director for the American Heart Association’s Central Iowa office. In this new role, Supple will lead local fundraising events, manage the 20-member Board of Directors and promote educational outreach to prevent and better treat heart disease and stroke.
“We’ve seen a lot of great things happening in Des Moines when it comes to heart-health,” says Supple. “However, we still have a long way to go when it comes to stopping our No. 1 killer. I’m very proud to have been selected to this leadership role and will continue to work with the community to make a difference in Central Iowa.”
