Wichita Sweetheart Program

The Sweetheart program is for young ladies who will be a sophomores and juniors in high school for the 2018-2019 school year. The program trains girls in all areas of the American Heart Association through volunteering, advocacy, learning about heart-healthy lifestyles, and discovering how they can individually fight heart disease and stroke – all in a fun environment. Our goal is to empower these special young ladies to make a positive change within their peer groups and the community by embracing the mission of the American Heart Association.

The highlight of the program is the presentation of the Sweethearts at the Heart Ball on February 2, 2019 (event date tentative) with their father or father figure. The Wichita Heart Ball is an elegant gala and one of the most important fundraisers of our local American Heart Association. The funds raised help support research, education, and community service. Because of the generous support of those in the Wichita, science has made important advances in preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases.

This year we will be offering three need-based scholarships, focused on service to the community and financial need. Please contact our local office, 316.768.3833 or email Jennifer.Melcher@heart.org for additional information or if you have questions about the application links below (all required to apply).
