Mustard - Homemade Condiments

Making your own mustard at home gives you more control over how much salt, sugar and other ingredients you and your family are adding to the foods you eat. And often they taste better, too!

Many condiments are easy to make, and once you’ve tried them you may not want to go back to store-bought ones!

Ingredients

Servings   36  

  • 4 Tbsp. ground mustard
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/8 tsp. paprika
  • 1/8 tsp. turmeric
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch

  1. In a jar that holds 1 cup mix the ground mustard, sugar, salt, vinegar, paprika and turmeric. Cover and microwave for 30-40 seconds.
  2. Add cornstarch to heated mustard mixture ½ teaspoon at a time and mix well.
  3. Store in the refrigerator in a covered jar.
