National Level Quality Program Data Research Opportunities

Updated:May 7,2018

An investigator can submit a proposal to conduct investigator-led research projects using national level data from (AHA/ASA) quality improvement programs. Research projects are hypothesis-driven studies that are developed into manuscripts suitable for peer-reviewed publication.

Process for Developing and Submitting a Research Proposal

Study questions (hypotheses) need to be developed within the context of data acquired through the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® or Mission: Lifeline program. The applicant should review the data elements collected across each of the available modules.

To avoid developing a proposal already in progress, it will also be helpful to review prior Quality Research Publications.

Complete the Research Proposal Form and send to qualityresearch@heart.org. Ensure the Research Proposal Form is completely and thoroughly filled out with details and suggested tables and charts.

Submitted proposals will be reviewed by the appropriate Clinical Work Group for decision within 3 months.
