Making the Stroke Connection Annual Stroke Awards

Making the Stroke Connection
The American Stroke Association realizes the importance of recognizing individuals that help further our mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. These awards are presented annually in Massachusetts at the Heart of Our Mission Awards event in September. 

Nominations are being accepted for the following two awards – complete the nomination form online.
 
The deadline for submitting your nomination is March 30, 2012.

The Leonard J. Zion Family Stroke Survivor Award 
Criteria Include:
  • Candidate can be an individual or family who has experienced a stroke
  • Candidate has made important and lasting contributions to community awareness and the fight against stroke by speaking to community members, volunteering at local hospitals, or volunteering with the American Stroke Association on any stroke initiative
  • Candidate must demonstrate dedication to reducing disability and death from stroke by advocating for stroke research funding or educating individuals on the warning signs of stroke

The Healthcare Professional Award
Criteria Include:
  • Candidate is an individual in the healthcare field focusing on stroke
  • Candidate will have made significant contributions to improving the lives of stroke patients and their caregivers
  • Candidate influences colleagues and healthcare professionals in the area of stroke
