A successful Greater Dayton 5K Heart Walk/Run will give us the opportunity to help fulfill the American Heart Association’s commitment to fund the research and education that is critical to reducing heart disease and stroke, especially in the Dayton community. Currently, we are funding $660,000 of experimental research at Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine.

Our mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. That single purpose drives all we do. The need for our work is beyond question. The American Heart Association is reducing the devastating impact of heart disease and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 4 killers in the United States. 

As the signature fundraising event for the American Heart Association, the 5K Heart Walk/Run promotes physical activity and heart healthy living in an environment that’s fun for the whole family. Nearly 4,000 people will gather here in Dayton and raise these all important funds. Visit the vendor area before and after the walk/run for a health fair, free screenings, health tips, massages, free refreshments, a fun Kids Zone, and more! Walk or run with friends, family, co-workers, or strangers you’ll bond with along the way. Anyway you choose to do it, your heart will thank you for it!
