HeartCode PALS Part 1 provides computer-based lessons that uses eSimulation technology so students “virtually” assess and formulate treatment for pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest patients. Students complete 12 interactive hospital-based cases that test their ability to apply the PALS algorithms to effect treatment.
Students receive step-by-step feedback through debriefing on actions taken and suggestions for improvement. This course also includes a pre-course self-assessment of ECG recognition and pharmacology knowledge.
The complete course combines the Part 1 lessons with hands-on skills practice and skills testing, and offers an alternative to PALS classroom.
