Puget Sound My Heart My Life
 
The American Heart Association’s My Heart. My Life. is a comprehensive new health, wellness and fitness platform to empower Americans to get healthier. A key goal of My Heart. My Life. is to increase the number of people who understand the link between their health and their risk of heart disease and stroke. It’s an important component of the American Heart Association’s overarching goal: to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent and to reduce deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20 percent by the year 2020.

• Puget Sound Heart & Stroke Walk, October 26.  The Heart & Stroke Walk celebrates those who have made lifestyle changes and encourages many more to take the pledge to live healthier lifestyles while raising the dollars needed to fund life-saving research and initiatives. Learn more about the 2013 Heart & Stroke Walk and sign up at pugetsoundheartwalk.org.  

• Fit Friendly Companies Recognition Program. Application deadlines are April 1st and November 1st annually. Please visit ffc.heart.org and follow the easy step by step instructions to complete the application. Contact Cherish Hart at cherish.hart@heart.org or 206.834.8638 for assistance.

• The American Heart Association is proud to announce our local Fit Friendly Companies - 17 organizations have been recognized with the highest level of achievement, as Platinum Fit Friendly Companies; 66 organizations have achieved Gold status; and 2 have received Special Innovation Awards!

• Fit Friendly Company Mentor Program. Looking for assistance to meet your organization's wellness goals? Our new mentor program connects existing Fit Friendly Companies with those that are working towards becoming Fit Friendly.
