AHA/ASA Power To End Stroke

African American and Latina women are disproportionately affected by heart disease and stroke and it’s time to turn the statistics around. Silent No More is a FREE educational seminar empowering women of color through education and action. Learn how to prevent the onset of the number one and number four killers of Americans through interactive and informative workshops, demonstrations and panel discussions around a holistic and comprehensive approach to living a healthier lifestyle.

Silent No More is celebrating its 16th year of addressing issues specific to women of color and this year will welcome Dr. Gayle Porter and Dr. Marilyn Gaston.  Drs. Porter and Gaston have both spent their careers trying to improve the emotional and physical health of children, adults and families, especially those who are poor, minority and underserved.  They have provided:  direct clinical services; organized and developed systems of care; provided educational programs; directed health care programs; conducted research; and trained students and health care providers.  Both are recognized nationally and internationally for their efforts and are frequently sought after speakers on effective and evidenced based health care and disparities.

Drs. Porter and Gaston will introduce their program 'Prime Time Sister Circle' which is a 12-week program that will provide interactive workshops to address health issues related to women of color.
