Grace was born on April 23, 2009, with pulmonary valve atresia with stenosis, a leaky tricuspid valve, an enlarged right atrium, and an underdeveloped right ventricle.

She underwent her first surgery, a cardiac catheter procedure to open up her pulmonary valve, less than 24 hours after she was born.

At 2 months old, Grace had her second open-heart surgery to place a BT shunt, replace her pulmonary valve, and expand her pulmonary arteries.

Grace turned three in 2012 and acts like most girls her age. She will undergo an exploratory cardiac catheterization in the next month to help determine the next intervention that will benefit her.

Her parents are very grateful to the American Heart Association for the research that has helped their little girl survive and thrive and become the amazing child that she is!
