Portland is a "Heart Friendly" City for Women!
The metro area of Portland - South Portland - Biddeford, ME, was rated the second most Heart Friendly City for women in the country for smaller metro areas.  Boulder, CO, ranked as number one.

The Portland area stood out for having positive statistics for cardiac mortality, diagnoses of diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, body mass index (BMI), number of physicians per capita, cigarette smoking, health plan coverage, ability to afford health care, healthy eating and smoke-free legislation.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped make Portland a heart-healthy place for women to live and work!  Portland City Hall will be lit red again in February 2012 with free Go Red health information available inside the rotunda.
