2009 lobby day group 2

About the Event:

You’re the Cure on the Hill
brings hundreds of advocates from across the country to Capitol Hill to urge Congress to prioritize the fight against heart disease and stroke.

The 2013 American Heart Association/American Stroke Association event will take place April 8-9 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. During the two days, attendees will enjoy:

  • Trainings to learn how to be an effective advocate in D.C. and back home.
  • Participating in a large rally with other advocacy groups about the importance of medical research.
  • Networking with fellow advocates and AHA/ASA staff.
  • Meetings on Capitol Hill with your legislators and their staff, scheduled by Soapbox Consulting.
As Congress continues its work to reach a budget agreement, it is critical for lawmakers to hear from constituents about the issues that matter most to them. So, this year, advocates will deliver a unified message, asking their members to prioritize the fight against our nation’s No. 1 and No. 4 killers by protecting heart and stroke research and prevention funding, and access to care for patients.

Registration Process:

All selected advocates should complete the online registration form no later than March 6th. Please reference your specific travel memo for specific hotel and flight booking instructions.

Agenda and Materials:

The final agenda and materials will be provided to attendees online prior to the event.
